Tonight we’re at Phoenix Public Market kicking off our second round of Race to the Tap! Join us if you’re in the area between 4:30-6 p.m. @ 14 E. Pierce Street. Sen. Steve Pierce, Rep. Jill Norgaard, Rep. John Ackerley, Rep. T.J. Shope, and SBE President Greg Miller are already here, along with several from the local education organizations, including Dawn Wallace from the Governor’s Office of Education, Whitney Chapa leading the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools, Matt Ladner from Foundation for Excellence in Education, Janice Palmer for Arizona School Boards Association, Michael Hunter with the Goldwater Institute, Steve Erickson with Teach For America-Phoenix, Andrew Collins at New Schools For Phoenix, and many others in the education community.
Every other Thursday we are hosting at this lively downtown Phoenix venue with policy makers and education advocates. It is an informal time for building relationships, networking, and keeping current on education issues. With a number of education finance and reform issues in the state’s policy spotlight, Race to the Tap will provide a can’t-miss opportunity for connection between the education and policy communities.
It has been many years since we’ve seen education poised at the top of the state’s policy agenda like it is for 2016. We’re enthusiastic about this fresh opportunity to make meaningful gains and look forward to connecting with you throughout the year. Stop by tonight, or at a future Race to the Tap or other A for Arizona event!
