What made you to want to become a school leader?
The best way to influence the future is to inspire change through the light within the eyes of children.
How do you and your team defy expectations?
We keep school a fun and peaceful place for learning to naturally occur that exceeds standards instead of finding ourselves controlled by a testing culture.
Why are you considering expanding or replicating your model?
We are considering expanding our model to a K-8 structure (we are now K-6) to provide extended opportunities for children and their families in a setting that promotes our vision and values.
What is one of your Big Goals for 2016?
To obtain a K-8 Status!
What is the biggest challenge that you and your students face?
Our campus does not fit the high demand for our program. There are few Montessori options such as ours in Tucson and Arizona.
Tell us one unique story about your school and culture.
Drachman has Pride Songs that are rapped by the principal at assemblies to honor academic, athletic, and music achievements. As the songs play, children or adults form “tunnels of love” that people who are honored pass through.
